An invitation
10:29 PM
"He said to them, 'Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.' At once they left their nets and followed him." Matthew 4:19-20
As I read this passage, what suddenly came to mind was Jesus inviting me like he did with Peter and Andrew - "Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
It is true. I am now at a point in my life where I am not just working with people but teaching people. At work, I coach teams about SCRUM and on Saturdays, I teach students about information technology concepts. Can you believe that? Almost an entire week with people! So far, it has been a rollercoaster experience but at the end of the day, I am thankful because each experience helps me grow.
I can say it is the same for my spiritual life. God has made his way through my life on that fateful day when I attended the Rizal Grand Feast. I felt like God was speaking to me and asking me to follow Him and entrust my life to Him. I did. That day, I surrendered everything to God, letting Him work through my life.
And it's not easy. There were a lot of trials. At work, at school, at home. Everywhere. But God always assured me that He is in control. He will provide. All we need to do is to follow His will. To follow Him requires us that we leave our personal wants behind. Tough right? But God loves us and He understands our pace. When we say 'yes' to God's invitation, there are beautiful things (even the challenges will look beautiful I assure you) in store for us.
Lord, thank you for this day. Thank you for the strength that You have given me to do what I need to do to prepare myself in renewing my life and helping others. You are indeed my Provider oh Lord. Amen.
