Devo 3 Week 3: November 17, 2016 - Be The Winner
6:13 PMVERSE:
“Do you know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.” (1 Corinthians 9:24)
RHEMA:
Be the winner, he tells us.
MESSAGE:
This life on earth seems like a big field full of different tracks and racers. Some runs for a purpose and some runs without direction. Some strives hard and gives their best to be the winner but some strives just to get to the finish line. This finish line is death but if you win you can surpass death and live eternally. Or maybe on a different perspective, the finish line can be reaching your goal and being able to win is also reaching your goal but receiving more than what you deserve.
MOTIVATION and APPLICATION:
Do I run because I'm just here to run? Am i here living so I can help my family? Support them? Have a family of my own? And again help and support them? Do I work for these reasons? Am I just a racer that runs because I have to? That if I would not run my family will not survive? Am I one of the racers that runs just to get to the finish line?
I don't want to be like that kind of racer. I don't want to run to die. I don't want to run and just reach what I have to reach or need to reach. I want to run and be a winner. I want to be happy and have peace. I want to run not because I have to but because I love to knowing that when I run at my best more than what I need will shower me. The peace and happiness will be my prize and no one can achieve it just be finishing the race and not winning it.
Lord God, I pray that you won't give up on me despite of me being into a lot of emotional attacks lately. I know that you are working closely with my friends whom you trust. Help me Lord God to focus on winning this battle I have everyday and that I won't stop holding on to You as I fight the enemy and finish my race. Help me to bring out my best, give all that I can more than I know I can and release in me Lord God what is my true potential and your true design for me. Reveal to me Lord God the spiritual gift you have already given to me so I can also help my family and friends or even strangers to finish and win our own races. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
