Brave the wind

“O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” Matthew 14:31

There are times in our lives when we wish and strive to believe - and decide not to. I remember one time when I was caught on the spot at work. The manager was asking how the team was. I answered with the best that I can, even if it led to a "heated" discussion (as others perceived it).

All it should take me was to believe in myself that I did my part; but I chose not to. Instead, I let the "winds" of insecurity, the need to defend and prove myself right and pressure cloud my determination to keep my faith and to stand my ground. Because of that, it led to a very stressful week, these "winds" sucked my energy out and filled my mind with negativity and assumptions.

Jesus already told Peter to come towards Him. When Peter was already halfway, he became frightened of the strong wind. I am just like Peter. God has already equipped me to be confident in what I do yet I let the negativity distract me. But our God is so good and loving, just like He held out His hand to Peter and pulled him back up, He did too to me, to us.

Let us keep the faith that God never abandons. We may encounter more frightening winds in our life but if we believe in Him, in His saving power and grace, we can brave these winds and move forward to His embrace.

Lord, thank you for another day of life. I am blessed to have You speak to me and affirm Your love for me. I am grateful for all the blessings You've given. Please bless my friends and family and the whole world and may we find peace in our hearts and keep the faith.

  2. The frightening winds can take its final form as the Goliath. Beware! Don't let your guard down. Equip yourself with a weapon from God, and you will surely win.
