Stand firm

10:43 PM

"He shall never be moved; the just one shall be in everlasting remembrance." Psalm 112:6

Justice, according to my professor in graduate school, is served when a person is given what he or she deserves. Though it may be painful, as long as it is something you deserve, it is considered just.

Last semester, I gave a failing grade for the first time in my teaching career. As much as possible, I don't want to fail any of my students; but sadly, they didn't adhere to the requirements.

At that point in time, I didn't know what to do. I prayed hard for the Lord to guide me in my decision. I am someone who is easily swayed by my emotions and during that time, my students' reasons were on a roll. And yet, I stood firm. It was heartbreaking yet I don't want to be unfair with those who attended class diligently and adhered to our agreement.

I may be remembered as a teacher who fails but I hope the reason behind my doing so will help them out in the future.

Sometimes, or most of the time, justice hurts and may take time. Seek for the Lord's guidance for He is always there to support us and enlighten us. It takes a lot of courage tonstand firm for what you truly believe. Turn to the Father's guidance and let us pray for His wisdom.

Lord, thank you for today. I have learned a lot from my experiences. Continue to mold me to be someone worthy of Your kingdom.
