Dedicating Your Job to God
3:42 PM
This
world is a very demanding place. Many of us go to work to earn money, while our
parents and helpers stay at home to do household chores and watch over the little
kids. Students are busy studying lessons and participating in classroom
activities, while professionals get deployed from here and there to deliver
projects for clients.
But
in all of the major activities we do every day, has there been one or two that we
dedicate to the Lord?
My
first six months at my new work has given me a lot of challenges – struggles that
have produced deep frustrations mainly towards how our management handles our
project. During this period, I was always worried with the quality of the project
we are working on, since our approach to deliver outputs has been very
different compared to my previous job.
But after attending one of The Feast sessions, I was reminded of how God gives us challenges when we are
in comfort, and how He tries to change our routines when everything is in
convenience. I realized He gave me these challenges as tests to improve my
patience and understanding.
After that realization,
I have put away my worries, and I completely turned to God through prayers that
my project teammates and I will surpass these challenges. Right now, it is very
difficult to work on tickets that have no functional and technical
specifications. Every detail you need will come from pure hard work of finding
it in all possible means you can. But this is a test from God, and I put into Him my
tasks and keep on believing I can accomplish it successfully. If
I am intended to fail, it is then His plan for me to strive more, be better and finally succeed next time.
I dedicate my job to God, that whatever hardships there will
be, I am strong against them.
I
hope that you find in your hearts that whatever you do, you'll dedicate it to Him, so that He will bless us and guide us to achieve success in our tasks and goals.
