Women Can Be Called to Teach
1:02 AM"He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. When Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they invited him to their home and explained to him the way of God more adequately." (Acts 18:26)
God allowed women to teach and preach.
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet." (1 Timothy 2:11-12) This verse contradicts what had happened from the above verse. Paul had set instructions that may have caused confusion to people. But in the above verse, it tells the story of women correcting a man, for that man was doing something not proper in speaking to the synagogue. Women are created as suitable helpers of men, to bring the best out from them and make them realize to do what is the right thing to do. How can a woman do her role without conversing to a man?
I received a mission from God to minister to people. I prayed that He leads me in the right path to do His will and purpose in this life. But the waves are strong because for some reason, the enemy attacks trying to discourage me to abort my mission. I was faced with Paul's message and doubt on what a woman should do. It was not easy to accept it because all along I believed that a woman can teach a man but then the message opposed it. I searched articles on which a woman can evangelize despite of this message from Paul. And I came across different situations in the Bible, some I haven't read yet, that showed how God has entrusted women to spread the Gospel and help the men be corrected to be good leaders. And also, some women from the Bible, God had appointed to be the leaders when men was not capable. I'm still trying to understand where Paul was coming from when he told Timothy about what a woman should do. Maybe it's due to the traditions they were practicing back then and that he might have spoken for himself.
Lord God, I thank you for giving me the answers. Thank you for removing my confusion by showing me evidences that I can proceed with your will. Lord God, help me understand why Paul had uttered such words to Timothy that I may testify to people if I faced this verse again in the future. No one nor nothing can stop me to do what is your command because You are God and it is to You I will offer my life to. And whatever your will maybe, it will be done as you have asked me whether I am a man or a woman. I declare that I will do your will in accordance to your plan despite of challenges I am facing and will face in the future. Help me Lord God, for without You, I cannot do anything. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
