God's Mercy Is Eternal
11:11 PM
Today, I had my Confession done at The Feast Bay Area. After I have confessed all my sins without any hesitations and shame in telling the truth, the priest in front of me told me he was so overwhelmed of how brave and sincere I was in telling all the wrong-doings I did, especially when I opened up to him the real me.
The priest told me a powerful message - that God's mercy is eternal. This means that no matter how many times we will fall down due to sins being committed, we can always feel secured that God will embrace us again with His mercy for all of us. Remember how He becomes our shepherd? And how we are that one lamb who always loose its way? He finds us when we are lost, and will bring us back to His people that He loves.
But even if God's mercy is countless and limitless, it doesn't mean we should abuse it and always commit sins after one another. We should not allow that - when we commit one sin, we should aim that it will only happen once in our entire lives. For me, this is the real challenge, for the world is full of powerful forces of the devil that can make us commit sins, but I know for sure that through God, we can be much braver, stronger and wiser in facing them.
After that confession, I felt I have been reborn. God is so great that He made me become a new person, and I am now in His embrace of mercy. The priest told me that He doesn't look at our past sins because it doesn't define us anymore, for what we do now and in the future will be the new definition of being His beloved child.
This Season of Advent, I pray that we undergo a Confession and ask for God's forgiveness of our sins. We can do this by either doing the Catholic tradition of Confession, or by directly talking to God. Before the birth of Jesus comes, we all must prepare with a heart full of love and compassion to one another, with a clear conscience and a heart that doesn't know any sin.
