The Second Commandment
7:44 AM"For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other."
Galatians 5:14-15
The second commandment is love your neighbor as yourself.
This verses tell us about the law of Christ aside of loving God with everything you are and everything you have. Your neighbors, your fellowmen, your family, your friends and even those you don't know by name or by face, treat them as yourself. Because if you do not, you will be treated how you don't want to be treated. This is the same as the Golden rule, 'do not do unto others what you don't want them to do unto you.
Many times I've been hurt this year. People are most of the time unpredictable. Even when I treat them with kindness and offer them all I have, they tend to take advantage and harm me. Some may talk against me, maybe, and some did doubt me, some fake their faces and some did hate me. Some moved away from me when I needed them the most.
I was so depressed and felt anger towards them at some point. I am a very emotional person and when I get this feeling of hurt, I easily cry out and curse people. But then, God tells me constantly to forgive. God also tells me that these people are His children like me and that as His daughter who knows Him I should be there to understand - that there must be reasons for what they did, that God is teaching us all a lesson or giving us a test. And despite all the things that happened, I have loved these individuals deeply and sincerely and I don't want to have any regrets in loving them. And it's simply because at some point in my life I experienced the love I also gave to them. They brought me happiness in my heart and they did things to make me feel loved. If I hate them, I curse them, they will too, to me, to other people and continue to hurt. But because of forgiveness and love, by God's grace, they will not. For the Holy Spirit is in the works with me to continue following His second commandment, I will not let the enemy instill hate and anger in my heart and continue to pray for the spread of love and healing. Healing of my heart and most of all, healing for these people who came to my life whom I know had sufferred as well.
Lord God, I praise your holy name and worship you more each day. Thank you for the second commandment you have given that I live according to your will and out of your love, taking away the pain and the hate. The gift of forgiveness you brought to us is beyond what I saw before I knew you. Thank you oh Lord that you have given me the Holy Spirit who helps me realize the goodness in people. Although I may not see this physically, you always make me see because of the faith I have in you and them. Truly, the world today is full of wickedness but despite that fact, my Lord God please continue to help me give love to your children. Forgive me Lord that for so many times before I hated them, cursed them, insult them, dishonor them and hurt them. I know in my heart I have wronged you by doing so, and for that I repent. Lord God, I thank you for the opportunity to love your children and I declare that I will continue to do it. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
