We Can When We Believe

The Gospel today highlighted the beautiful story of Zechariah and Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25), wherein the angel Gabriel talked to Zechariah that his wife, despite of being very old in age, will conceive a son through the Lord's blessings. Zechariah believed the angel but with hesitation, so he was made speechless/mute until Elizabeth conceives.
This story reminds me of the accomplishments I had where at first, I totally didn't believe that I could have them. Such things were graduating from college, having a modeling career, getting 4 half-marathon medals, and being a software developer as my profession and income-source. I have experienced many downfalls in between, but I ended up being successful on these things.
The simple lesson from the Gospel that I learned today is just this - when we believe in God, all our dreams will be achieved someday. We can do what we think we cannot do now, and we will have the things we believe we will not have. God listens and understands, and even if we are sinners, when we come back to Him and do things that are right and just, He will surely provide for us.
I pray that the people who thinks negatively of themselves, and feels deprived of the best things in the world, will find in their hearts that having faith to God will give them encouragement to believe that they can achieve their dreams someday, no matter how hard it can get.
