Sunday Dilemma

"Who among you, if your son or ox falls into a cistern, would not immediately pull him out on the sabbath day?" Luke 14:5
When I was a child, I hold the impression that Sunday is "God first" day. It is the where we should prioritize God as the day starts by attending mass in the morning before spending the day with family. Work is not allowed during Sunday as it is intended for rest.
This changed when I grew up. A year ago, I took my graduate studies where I have classes during Sundays. The God first day became God last because of the schedule. Admittedly, attending mass is the last thing to do for me during this time.
In this situation, I asked myself, "Am I a bad child of God because I didn't get to attend to God first on a Sunday? Does God hate me now? Am I less loved by Him?" God said no. He loves us just the same. Even if we forget him for a time, His love will never fade. Even if we forget the tradition of attending mass first, He will still love us. Why? His love has no boundaries or restrictions. There are different opportunities for us to express our love for Him. His love is not shallow. He knows exactly what we're going through and what we need.
In my dilemma, I was able to squeeze in time after my classes to attend mass. It may not be the way how it used to be, but it still meets the same purpose - to praise God.
Father, whatever day it may be, we will continue to serve and praise You. Amen.
