The truth hurts

Have you been in a difficult situation because you spoke the truth? How did you handle it?

The truth hurts yet it is the only thing that can set you free.

A couple of weeks ago, the team I'm handling was caught in a last-minute deployment before a client demo. It was the third time that they were on a rush to include another feature to be presented. My worry was since it was done in a rush, there is no ample time to test and may malfunction during the presentation. I shared this to the team so they can do something about it but sadly, I was brushed off. Some of the team members told me that I should trust my team better, it was just a small change and would not affect the entire thing, and many more.

It was sad because I do not have ill intentions; I just want them to know the effects of their actions and how it may affect them in the long run. Though their comments hurt me, somehow I still feel contented since I get to share my observations with them. I can only do so much, the ball is with them now.

Lord, in times when I have to speak the truth, guide me.

  1. The truth will set you free. If they were not set free by the truth you have spoken, someday they will. God will reveal to them at the right time. Atleast you were set free and have done a big step for them to start on and realize something.

  2. Many people are just so blind on how things must be dealt. Just like here in my current work - I always suggest that these things and that must be done in this way or so. But I don't have ears who listen to me. In times like this, what's important is we were able to send the message - the truth - to them. Someday, they will realize how important our advises can be when things started falling apart.
